Château Yon-Figeac
Château Yon-Figeac can claim roots that go back to 1881. Its 25-hectare vineyard lies in a single block close to Château-Figeac in Saint-Émilion. The soils are notably sandy with lots of iron. In 1985, Bernard Germain, who also owns Château de Fesles in Bonnezeaux in the Loire Valley, acquired the property. His son, Philippe managed it for many years until 2005 when it was sold to Alain Château, a paper magnate, who owns multiple properties in Bordeaux and also in the Loire. The late Dénis Dubourdieu worked as their consulting oenologist and also owned multiple properties, including Doisy-Daëne in Barsac. In addition to their main wine, they produce a second wine called Les Roches de Yon Figeac.
