Château Preuillac
Created in 1869, Château Preuillac is a Cru Bourgeois located in the Médoc, just down the road from Château Potensac, close to the town of Lesparre-Médoc. In 1998, it was purchased by the Mau and Dirkwager families and is currently under the management of Jean-Christophe Mau, a fifth generation Bordeaux winegrower who also manages Château Brown, these two families' other Bordeaux estate. They produce three wines: Château Preuillac, their flagship wine produced from an almost equal share of Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon and a smattering of Cabernet Franc; Emotion Preuillac, a Cabernet Sauvignon dominate wine that is matured in 100% new oak for 18 months; and Esprit de Preuillac, the château's second wine.
