Medium to full-bodied, supple and enveloping, with powdery tannins, succulent acids and a sweet core of fruit, it will offer a broad drinking window. It's produced from gravely soils and contains an appreciable percentage of very old vine Cabernet Franc. Producer Château La Tour FigeacLocated on the border with Pomerol on the famous graves terroir of Saint-Émilion, Château La Tour Figeac was separated from the Château-Figeac property in 1879. Included in the original Saint-Émilion Classification of 1955, La Tour Figeac was ranked amongst the Grands Crus Classés, the estate now consists of 15 hectares of vineyards. Planted to more than half of Merlot and the rest Cabernet Franc, the vines are farmed biodynamically. Today, the property is owned and managed by the Rettenmaier family, with Otto Rettenmaier at helm. The La Tour Figeac includes wine experts, Christine and Stéphane Derenoncourt, who help to craft tasteful yet pleasantly spicy wines year after year.
