Ripe and racy, with a graphite streak that drives the core of cassis and plum fruit along, picking up an anise edge on the finish. Not big, but fresh and well-defined. Shows some sneaky grip. Best from 2018 through 2026. 8,335 cases made.

The 2014 Grand-Puy-Ducasse has a conservative, rather backward and tertiary nose that needs to demonstrate more fruit intensity. Pleasant enough, but not as memorable as its peers. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannin, more weight than it demonstrated from barrel, although the second half is very linear and refuses to fan out. It cuts away a little short. Not bad, but there is still room for improvement.<br/>

Château Grand-Puy Ducasse
Planted across the best land in Pauillac, Château Grand-Puy Ducasse owns 40-hectares of vineyards consisting of three large plots bordering those of Mouton, Lafite and Pontet-Canet. The unusual scattered pattern of the property owes its brilliance to the estate’s founder Pierre Ducasse, a distinguished lawyer who pieced together this collection of lots with land he inherited or purchased in the 18th century. Currently under the ownership of a subsidiary of the Groupe Crédit Agricole, the CA Grands Crus company since 2004, the estate has entered a new phase, noted by the upswing in quality. Classified as a Fifth Growth in the famous 1855 ranking, the estate has now integrated certified sustainable farming and impeccable harvesting practices. Today, Château Grand-Puy Ducasse produces exemplary Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot blends made in the classic Pauillac style. Grand-Puy Ducasse, is a legendary fine wine, renowned for its aromatic complexity, glorious structure and ageing capacity.
