quite smoky oak heralds this full-bodied and fleshy wine, which ends with a slightly dry finish. Impressive, but a little bit showy. Still you gotta love it. Second wine of Giscours. Try in 2019.

The 2014 La Sirène de Giscours is a blend of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc. It has a light, cedar-scented bouquet that feels a little rustic. The palate is medium-bodied with high acidity on the entry. It feels a little pinched and needs more flesh to develop toward the finish.<br/>
Producer
Château Giscours
As one of the largest Margaux properties, Château Giscours represents one of the eleven 3ème Grand Cru Classés in the region. Located in the communes of Larbarde and Arsac, the château lies in the Margaux appellation. With a long and detailed history that can be traced back to the fourteenth century, Château Giscours is currently owned by Dutch businessman, Eric Albada Jedgersma since 1995. Managed by the dynamic Alexander van Beek, the property owns 95-hectares of vineyards planted to Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and a bit of Petit Verdot. The Grand Vin, Giscours, is a rich, textured and perfectly aromatic wine, consistently one of Margaux’s best. In a similar spirit of quality, the estate produces two powerful secondary wines, La Sirene de Giscours, and Le Rose de Giscours.
