Perfumed nose of spiced cherries, prunes, black olives, nutmeg, truffles and potpourri. It’s full-bodied with firm, chewy tannins. Firm, rich, tannic and compact. Better from 2026.

From Merlot growing on gravel soils, the 2019 Lynsolence is a rich, dramatic wine bursting with aromas of jammy black fruit, burning embers and spices. Full-bodied, rich and muscular, it's ripe and extracted. While it's a creditable effort in this style, less would be more.

Offers a gush of warmed plum sauce and melted black licorice notes, with light singed vanilla and tobacco leaf accents. Just a touch stolid in feel. Drink now through 2026. 800 cases made, 400 cases imported. — JM
