Château Reynon is located in the Premières Côtes de Bordeaux appellation. It was purchased in 1958 by Jacques David, but its vineyards were taken over in 1976 by his daughter, Florence Dubourdieu and her husband, Dénis Dubourdieu, arguably Bordeaux's most famous white wine producer (also owner of Doisy-Daëne in Barsac and Clos Floridène in the Graves). Reynon's vineyards are comprised of gravelly clay and are planted to a majority (20.5 hectares) of red varieties: 81% Merlot, 6% Cabernet Sauvignon, 13% Petit Verdot but also has almost 13 hectares of Sauvignon Blanc and Sémillon. In certain vintages, a botrytis wine is produced under the Cadillac appellation. Over the years, Château Reynon has become one of the most renowned within its appellation.
