Larcis Ducasse 2005 75cl

With an unbelievable nose of licorice, tapenade, black cherry and blackcurrant liqueur, as well as full body, super-sweet tannin, and astonishing richness and length, this prodigious effort in 2005 announced the resurrection of this great terroir on the slopes near Château Pavie. Dark garnet/plum/purple, this is compelling stuff and drinkable already, but capable of lasting another 25-30 years. This beauty is not to be missed! Only 3,000 cases were produced, from a blend of 78% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Franc and 2% Cabernet Sauvignon.

This is well-stuffed, with juicy bramble, cassis bush, blackberry paste and plum sauce flavors that are nicely backlit by floral and mineral notes. Still very compact on the finish but with excellent energy, this stands out from the pack, showing more briar than chalk in the structure. Unglaublich dunkles Purpur-Violett. Dichtes Bouquet, Cassisblüte, florale Frische, tiefgründig, rauchiger Untergrund zeigend. Cremiger, saftiger Gaumen, war Larcis Ducasse früher ein muskulärer und meist metallisch-trockener Wein, so ist er heute, nach dem Stilwechsel fast schon das Gegenteil, zeigt eine tolle Konzentration aber gleichzeitig reife Tannine, gebündeltes, langes Finale. Braucht viel Zeit bis zur Genussreife und kann dann noch zulegen. 07: Wildkirschen, Granatapfelkerene, wirkt konfitürig. Somit freut man sich einen Schluck zu nehmen von der Nase her, doch im Gaumen wird es dann sehr schnell hart und maskulin, zeigt zu viel Muskeln, im finale grüne Noten. Irgendwie passen die Flascheneindrücke nicht ganz mit der ersten Flaschenprobe zusammen. Zeigt der Larçis-Ducasse ganz einfach seine alten Krallen - egal wie man ihn vinifziert? trinken (2012 - 2028)
